    Thanks for calling us schizoids "stoic". I appreciate that massively and the date thing was so true. We're not very reactive and that combined with us being self aware of our peculiarity makes us quite covert, a lot of the time.

    My introversion began with shyness, dealing with ADD, negativity at home, being picked on as a child in school, and being continually grounded for a period of early years by my mother during my summer vacations from school. These negative things use to make me feel sensitive about how others view me, but not anymore. To deal with these issues, over time, I learned to feel comfortable with being alone, doing activities by myself, and now enjoy, and feel confident in, my own company. I am goal oriented, and enjoy writing and using my talents to help others. After objectively viewing other people's relationships, I realize that relationships are, many times, more troublesome over time than they are worth in effort and time. I am just not motivated to take the time and effort to pursue social relationships. So, while I enjoy talking with people, helping people, and feeling love and compassion for people, I am not interested in deeper relationships or friendships, but am not against them either if a person has similar goals to my own. I have no ambition to be social, or be a socialite, in any way, shape, or form, but I am okay in a social situation, and am not shy about talking with someone anywhere that I do not know. In my discussions with others, I try to listen more, and only speak when I feel my words would be helpful or encouraging. I feel I am a very objective person. I don't think of myself as a social introvert (I have no personal long-term friendships), or anxious, restrained, or thinking introvert; rather, in my own thinking, I feel that there is more value in being independent, and I enjoy doing things on my own. So, I have never married, and I do not seek marriage for these reasons. I do not want pets either, as that is not my ambition or need, but I love animals. The reason for not wanting pets or marriage or any close relationship is because I never feel depressed or lonely; so, it's not a good use of my time. The only relationships I continue, long-term, are family, but I am not very deeply involved in their lives, but I am there if they need me. I do communicate with them if that is what they desire. I hope my introversion experience is helpful to others.

    This video has been around for five years. I've been into personality theories for two years. Over these two years I went from trusting mbti to not trusting it, from trying to apply it to criticising it. Now I'm starting to get it. I'm starting to understand what it is all about. 16 archetypes are about defaulting to certain base modes that people tend to operate in. Life situations and workplace situations clearly show it. Describe your life timeline or let me watch you work and I can identify your personality type. It's not about putting anyone in a box. It's just archetypes that see into default operational state of different people. You can draw parallels between certain default modes of different people. These parallels are what makes it possible for distinguishable archetypes to exist. For some periods of time I thought I was ab ESTJ, then I thought that I was an ESTP. It made sense a lot, but I kinda started to notice that my default operational states were always freaking ISTJ. This is what I finally think is true for me.

    500 years ago when someone had deviant behavior, it was due to 'the Devil' and women were burned at the stakes for being 'witches'. Mental health treatment has come a ways since then.

    What if, based on the research I've done, we have corruption in society and in government, and i feel like we are all proverbial slaves working for money to help someone else get rich off our backs, and 10s of millions of people (just in the U.S. alone) are suffering mentally and physically due to such exploitation, and therefore i don't want to participate in the U.S. economy, but i could see myself working in a more equitable economy in a different country....Does that mean i have a mental disorder? Then include the fact that we are at the whims of our government to throw us into war killing other people who we dont want to kill, having to sign up for the meat grinder draft when we're 18 in case we're needed in another bullshit type conflict like Vietnam. Not only have i done the research to back up the facts, but i also have a personal experience, i was personally involved in a situation where my health was destroyed, my life was in ruins, and i almost died at the hands of a small group of doctors in the medical industry, all for them to make the almighty dollar over the health and safety of another human being (me). And it happens to people ALL THE TIME in this country. How does one gain back faith in society, humanity, our economic system, and a 'normal' life due to that? “It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.” - Jiddu Krishnamurti

  • @mycatisromeo

    So according the the definition of a mental disorder, everyone has a mental disorder to a varying degree in which in harms their life and mostly because the very nature of being a human and trying to function in our imperfect economic system causes disturbances in our life and behavior? Spoiler alert... Sounds like job security if i pursue the path of therapist :) If i have job 'security' i can finally stop feeling abnormal about having economic 'insecurity'.

    Dismissing psychic aspects as mental illness is a bit unfair. Who are you to say that your own worldview is true. There is good evidence for extra sensory perception being real. But an element of delusion is probably engantled with the phenomenon. IE reading into things.

  • @prschuster
    @prschuster Рік тому

    The first thing about Jung's typology that rang true to me is introvert (I) vs. extravert (E). That is so obvious. Everyone knows where they fit on that rubric. If you have ever been seen as a deep thinker, you may be an intuitive (N) type, rather than a less abstract sensor (S). The IN fits me very well. I would never be mistaken for an ES. I do get tired of hearing that MBTI is like a horoscope. The result of an MBTI test is obviously more reliable than the arbitrary attributions of Zodiac signs and planets. I do get confused with the difference between judging (J) and perception (P) though.

    So basically it's an imperfect tool that measures general aspects of our personalities. More successful with some people than others. If it's helping you understand some of your behavior that before had you puzzled- then it's working. If you feel pigeon -holed then it's not. The funny thing is the people who are energetically opposed to using this tool are reacting to it according to a quantifiable personality trait which could be measured by this very tool. Dost thou protest too much?
